I have been working on a conventional construction outbuilding. When I began to stucco, I layed the metal lathe butt-to-butt. What I found out after the scratch coat is that I should have overlapped the metal lathe. The results are hairline cracks around the perimiters of the metal lathe sheets.

I have gone no futher on this building. My fear is that those hairline cracks will continue through the next two coats (the brown and final coats).

Are there any remedies and does anyone have any ideas on how I could fix or reduce cracking?
