Hi I have a GE 32GT660 that when you turn it on it stays on for sometimes a minute sometimes hours...then it starts turning on and off...sometimes its repetedly and sometimes it takes an hour to come back on....any ideas?

I learned that if I hold the power button on the set in then it stays on the entire time...but when i let go its shuts off again

Holding in the button is just overriding the safety circuit. You have a failed capacitor in the low voltage power supply. The
filter capacitor has induced a "ripple" on the DC line and that fact is why the set trips off line.
