I've got to install a pair of safety rails in my grandmother-in-law's bathroom and I wondered if anyone has any advice about making sure I don't get leakage around the bolts?

I would fill the area around the bolts with a quality silicone based caulking. Dow Corning is my choice but they have been bought out by Dap.
