I have an old brick walkway sitting in about an inch of cement. It's about 60-70 feet long and 2 feet wide. I would like to remove the walkway but somehow keep the bricks for use in a patio that I would like to install. Is this possible? If so, what is the most efficient way? So far I am having the most difficulty removing the mortor from between the bricks. I am using a chisel and hammer. Is there a better way?

Thanks,

Tracy

The old lime based mortars were fairly easy to remove with hammer and chisel. It's next to impossible to remove Portland cement mortar from brick.
