If anybody has any ideas on how to help please let me know.
I had carpet installed and purchased from Homedepot in Jacks Valley, Nevada. The carpet was mostly paid with an insurance claim back in November 2001. In January i started calling the store to complain because the seams still showed and the carpet was always fuzzy still. they never returned my calls and when i went to the store the person i had to talk to was never there. I finally got somebody to come out to check the carpet in July. He had said that the install was wrong but he wanted the manufacturer to check it because of the fuzzing. 3 weeks later an inddependant tester came out and said the carpet was faulty, the color fade was bad and wasn't glued right. Finally i get a ruling from the manufacturer that they will replace the carpet, I said ok fine. 3 days later they call and tell me they don't make this carpet anymore. i then told them i wanted my money back because i need to go somewhere that did have this carpet because it was an odd carpet. they fought with me and finnally i was able to get the portion from the insurance company but i had upgraded and paid more. Homedepot will not give me my money back that i paid unless i tear up my house and give them the carpet back. Is this fair and good customer service? even calling the corporate office doesn't help they call the store manager and they give me the same answer. somebody please HELP!!!

"Homedepot will not give me my money back that i paid unless i tear up my house and give them the carpet back."
That's usually the way it works.

What? You want to keep the carpet they are going to give your money back on? It's called a return.
The manufacturer has discontinued that carpet. Now think about it a minute. If it is unique and this manufacturer made it, what makes you think another manufacturer is going to have the same exact carpet.
Sure the installation was BAD. Most of Home Depots installs are bad. Your going through so many hands by the time the actual installer gets his cut, that he is installing it for pennies, and barely getting by.
The inspector/claims rep was giving you a break, he claimed something just to get you satisfied and stay a customer for life, to the manufacturer.
Buy your carpet where ever you wish, but find a
