I assume you mean by refinishing, changing the color, and I would advise against it. Finished
leather is treated in a way to make it reject
other stains. (You may not think so, since everything kids get on it seems to stay forever.)
But, unless the surface is worn down, spray-on treatments usually sit on the surface and can be rubbed off onto clothing if the temperature and humidity are right.
If you merely want to touch-up worn areas, I'd take a cushion to a good cobbler or leather crafter and explain your desires. They have stains
and such that may help.

Hi, Debbie--
If you have any luck doing this -- changing the color -- please let me know. I was about to research this subject myself. Who knows--maybe there is a chemical that would remove that finish and allow the new dye to be absorbed....
Thanks.
Shelley

Cleaning, refinishing, and restoring of leather is best left to a professional. Professionals are more familiar with the different types of leathers and finishes and have the experience and equipment to do a proper job if your leather product is one that lends itself to refinishing.
