Its been a few years since I've hooked up a new gas stove - so I've done this before - following up with the soap test and all. But I don't remember if I should use tefelon tape or if there is now a better product available to seal the connection.
the house is brand new with all piping installed, including the shut off switch at each point. Plan to add gas dryer as well.
The gas source is from a burried 1000 tank.

Hello: lrssms
I personally do not recommend pipe tape on any fitting or threaded joint. Instead, use any lite weight oil or pipe thread compound.
Apply the oil to any threaded joint or connection. But do not apply pipe thread compound to the connectors end cap threads or the cone ends of the shut-off valve or adaptor ends. Use oil there.
Use leak detection soap and or any household dish liquid soap to detect leaks. Rise the fittings tested with a wet rag to remove any excess soap.
