I currently have a formica backsplash glued to the drywall between the counter top and cabinets in my kitchen. Is is possible to put tile over the formica backsplash? If so what type of adhesive, or will the mastic suffice.

I would not have suggested it in the past, but a new mastic has come out that fits the bill for going over existing laminate countertops.

Custom Building Products: "OMNI GRIP" Hit the surface of the laminate with 80 grit sandpaper first and wipe clean.
