I need to extend my brick chimney about 6' to accomodate a second floor extention that will be less then 10' away. I am not comfortable with extending the brick this much and I don't think that it would look good. I recently came across a picture in a magazine that had a metal extention about 4' above the red brick and seemed to have a directional cap on it. Can anyone tell me where I can find something like this?

Any good sheet metal shop can make what you need there. We make many of them for people. They will make a base that goes from the square , to fit over the chimney to a round as high as you need. Also there are many types of top's that can go on top of this. ED;)
