Hello!
I've seen that this is a very active
forum, so I hope somebody can help me
with some sort of an unusual problem.
We want to build a house in a massive
style, so no wood an stuff like that.
It's planned to be a reinforced concre
skeleton that will be filled out with bricks.
Well the concrete is no problem, but
the bricks ! In Europe we have special
kind of bricks: It's a block with vertical
holes going through it.
But a picture says more than thousand
words, so please have a look right
here if you want to see, what I am
talking about:
http://www.poroton.org
They are usually 10 times larger than
standard bricks like you often take them
to protect a wooden wall.
Has anybody of you seen these kind of
bricks anywhere in the United States ?
Maybe you have a link or a specific
name how these bricks are called.
I haven't found anything so far.
Thanks for any help !
Regards,
Benedict

I haven't seen that exact style. I do live in the land of oz, and that's not Aussie.
I think the German language might be daunting to most of us Americans.
Good luck. When I have more time, I may surf around and see what I can find.

Hi Benedict,
There is a site with all the information you need about bricks. This is the link to the page "Where to buy bricks"
http://www.bia.org/html/wheretobuy.html
I designed and built some houses with this system, with great results. As advice, take care about the quality of the bricks and insulation.
Let me know if you need further information. Hope this helps.

That's the best Link I could get.
It's like diving into the jackpot
