Hand sewing seams is a lost art, since hot melt tape came out.
Some woven carpets such as and Axminister or Wilton, must be hand sewn.
There is some information out there, but it is minimal.
I got all my information from being a part of the International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association(CFI)
There are a half dozen different stitches for different situations and different carpet.
