I cleaned my kitchen tile floor with vinegar. After that I discovered that vinegar vashed out a sagnificant amount of grout around some tiles leaving deep (about 1/8"-1/4") and wide grooves. What can be done to fix it? Please help!!

Hi
That doesn't sound right at all...even though vinager is an acid, it should never have caused that to happen. Is this a new installation? Sounds like it wasn't grouted properly in the first place.

Thenk you for your reply.
It is 5 years old. I used 100% vinegar, no water added. Maybe it was to much vinegar for that grout?

Hi
If you have been washing that way for the last 5 years then maybe it has damaged the grout..it's possible...acid will weaken a cement joint..even if it is a mild acid.
IF it only happened around a few tiles, then it's possible those tile are a bit loose.
You could re-grout those areas, but the color won't match the rest of the floor. If all the joints are that low, you may be able to re-grout the whole floor, but it's hard to say, not seeing the floor.

Hi adanac,
Actually it was my first time using vinegar on that floor. In the past I used only water.
And yes, it happend only around 5-7% of the tiles. I will try re-grouting them.
