Hi there!
I had a 1-1.5 sq.ft brown discoloration in my dinning room ceiling due to a leak in the restroom upstairs (which is now repaired).
Today I applied the Easy touch Acoustic Texture for patching the "popcorn" type ceilings. Now the patch has a different color than my ceiling.. its more like grey in color and I can still see the brown discoloration. Is there any brand which is pure white in color? Can I paint over this area? What kind of paint can I apply over this now? or should I hire a contractor to get his job done?
Please let me know.

sethuvs,
It sounds as though you didn't use a stain killer like Kilz. Try and remove what you did and then apply this primer. Reapply your product but I beleive that the WJHOLE ceiling will have to be painted to avoid the patched look. It is extremely difficult to match colors to an area if it has not been touched for a long time. If the area is too big, consider hiring a professional to do it right.
Good Luck!
