I am looking for a way to make a new, shiny brass-finish door latch match drawer pulls on a 60 year old cabinet. The drawer pulls are a dark, almost black metal finish. Any ideas?

you can get ageing kits for brass. sorta gets you a green look.
I have used a burnt umber toner to darken brass.it somtimes is somthing you have to experment with until you get it right.
Burnt Umber is a color of a lac. toner. if you use this make sure that the brass is totally free of any finish , oils .ect. then you tone to disired color and seal it in with a good clear lacq.
Just my input may be better ways.
