We are re-doing our living room. had everything thought out! was going to do the special effects paint (suede look) with stained wainscott. Then we decided to buy this 12' Cherry wood Entertainment center and a cherry granfather clock! Now I am back to square one on what color to stain the Wainscotting to match my furniture and what color scheme should I use for the top half of the walls. I am trying to give it a more cozy look....Staying away from whites and creams. I am a layman when it comes to putting stuff together...Any suggestions?

Darker colors tend to lend a cozier feel. I have always been a fan of green with cherry wood furniture. Dark blue does well, too. Cherry is very traditional, so a traditional, rich color scheme might work well for you.
