Hi there

I have some crank mechanisms going(gone) bad in some old awning windows and would like to know if I can still get parts for them or the best way to improvise. It is the type with a full length bar servicing both sides from single crank I cannot find a name on it. If photo is not in the attachment let me know.

Thanks

No photo......I think you can't use the "attach file" and directly upload it......think you have to use the "IMG" and have the pic at a web address located on the net already.....I think....I'm sure am NOT a computer guru.

Cool link !

From the pic on your site, I see the operating arm, but not the crank mechanism. I take it the windows are aluminum ?

Have no idea where you can get these old parts..and suspect they aren't even availiable.....I'm in the replacement business and am usually pulling these type windows out and throwing them away. If you can take a pic of the crank mechanism and email me a pic of that, I'll look out in my junk pile to see if I have some that match...you may get lucky :)

Now a question for you:

Are there any sailing ( sailboat ) schools in your area ? I'm wanting to take some courses on sailing with the intent to eventually be able to bareboat charter something in the 30' range. You might get some window work done in exchange for a few days at your inn :)

Thanks !
