hi all. my new living room and dining room are really one room. i hate it because i feel like we're back in an apartment!!
anyhoo, i'm thinking i'd like to put a half wall between the two areas to 'create' two rooms...maybe 5' tall. i have a couple of questions:
1) we just had new hardwood floors put in. can i lay the wall right on top of the floors and just nail it down or must i cut into the wood? i'd prefer not to!!
2) do i have to cut into the wall it will be attaching to? (at a 90' angle).
thanks!

OOPS! duh, i forgot the perpendicular wall is concrete, not drywall:rolleyes:
so the question becomes...can i simply build a frame and anchor it to the concrete wall and the hardwood floor and then drywall it? can it really be that easy, lol?!
