Hey Meg,
I'm not a painter, and am usually the asking the questions. Its been quiet on the forums lately, so unfortunately some questions get unanswered. I'm going to 'bump' your original question to the top, and check with some people that may be able to help you. I'm also putting a link in this post to your original post.
The two people that I know can help you have either been on vacation (which means they are behind on work now and catching back up) or having problems with computers, etc. Seems to be a rash of computer problems lately.

Try going to sites like www.hgtv.com to see if you can find where they've tried that type finish. Sounds neat, but I honestly don't know what it looks like. You may even be able to type something like painting finishes into a google search ( www.google.com ) or into another favorite search engine.
Am going to 'bump' your post now to put it as new. It may have been overlooked. Most of the moderators and helpers on here work full time, and help on the side.
