I want to paint my drab concerte patio floor and I need help! Firstly, what is the best way to patch up cracks in the foundation? Secondly, what kind of paint should I use (the floor is covered). I plan on painting a "tile with grout" look. Thanks for the help!

I'm new to this site, so I certainly hope it's okay to post links to products on the web. I also have a concrete slab 3-season porch and plan to use this product.

I am getting ready to paint a concrete floor. I have been looking into the right way to do it and so far I know that I first need to use a latex sealent on the surface. That will prep the pourous surface so that the paint won't just soak in and look blotchy.
How were you planning to do the tile look? Were you going to use a stencil or freehand or what?

Gabby,
Links to sites that are either informative or sell products is perfectly fine. This gives the readers here on the forums the option to choose whether or not they want to read ads.

To do the tile look I was planning on masking the patio area off creating 12 inch squares, paint the surface and move the tape (hoping that the paint did not bleed through!). The concerte color would give it a grout look. I was planning on painting it a terra cotta color, like mexican tile. Hope this helps! Let me know

Go to a concrete/stone supplier. There are paints (more correctly they may be stains) made just for concrete. You may have to etch, before painting, with muriatic acid

We used a concrete stain on our patio this spring and it looked beautiful but the chairs have marred it. It just didn't last very good. It didn't seep in like I thought it would so we will do something different next year.
