Bought a 2-unit rental building. Previous owner actually broke off interior window sills (double-hung windows) to be flush with interior wall (no lip). I want to replace these. Is this something I can buy at Home Depot? Or do I have to have these made-to-measure by a carpenter? Can I install myself? I am pretty handy, but serious carpentry may not be worth it to me.

Thanks,
John Power (jpower)

Thanks for the speedy help. It looks do-able, so I'll try one and see if it's beyond me.

Thanks again for your help. The guy who is fixing and refinishing the floors (solid contractor-i've used him before) has said he will make us new stools out of oak and install them. It's just as well, since the syools are deeper than replacement sizes, so they have to be custom-made anyway.
Thanks again for your help.

Sure glad things are working out for you. Glad to be of service.

Why don't you have an "s" on the end of your name? I do. Wonder if people with an "s" have more powers than those without?
