I have a Day & Night Model # 398AAV central heating unit. Selling the house and the heater starts but doesn't stay lit. Is there a sensor or diaphram that I need to check? In case your not familiar with the unit it is two stage.

Thanks in advance for any help.
(a trouble shooting link would help a lot)

How long does it stay lit before shutting down? Do you see the main burners lite off or just the pilot? The electronic modules are designed to have up to about a 30 second delay in order to establish and prove the pilot flame/main burner before shutting down. If this is what you're seeing then the problem probably lies in a corroded ground for the pilot flame, a bad sparker or bad hot surface igniter, depending on what type you have. Other things to check are to make sure the furnace electrical ground is good and that the power supply polarity is correct. IOW- the hot wire has to be on the hot terminal and the nuetral wire has to be on the nuetral terminal.
