My 4 year old Italian made front loading Washing Machine has patches of rust on its body. What should I do to remove the rust, make the machine look new and prevent the rust from coming back?

Use liquid rust remover and steel wool to remove the rust, prime with rust inhibiting primer, repaint entire machine with appliance paint.
