I just finished painting the backsplash in my kitchen. I thought I had washed down the back over the stove well enough. Must not have. When I painted with 4 parts glaze to 1 part paint, not only did it set up before I could crinkle paper, but all of the grease spots did not take the paint.
In frustration I just continued to paint until I had covered all of the surface. My whole intent was to pick up the off white underneath the new paint to look like tile on the floor. I need to know what to do...prime of grease spots? and repaint with paint glaze mixture? Can I still get the effect I'm looking for? what steps do I take.

Sounds like you'll need to reprime the whole area, and repaint.
