Hi all newbie here......busily improving her home lol

I want to have a Patio Door Installed before the snow flies.

What should I look for in a Contractor??

I will be purchasing my own patio door as I know from experience that contractors will bring me the same thing but at a inflated cost and I see no sense in it.

Is this a complicated job?Can it be done in 1 day??

I want to get a sliding patio door....just would work better for me.

Any input??

Sorry cannot think of the name of the compnay whose patio door I wish to purchase....all I can remember at almost 4 a.m. is that it;s logo is a peach?

Thanks for any input,mnsweetnsassy2;)

Hi mnsweetnsassy2,

The door you have in mind is probably a Peachtree.

Your thought on expense may or may not be entirely true. A contractor can usually purchase at a discounted price. The cost variance will be in the labor charge. So. with that in mind, you get my standard answer. Get multiple bids(at least three). And get two fom each contractor -with their door and your door.
It should be able to be intalled in one day. Some things which may take the cost a little higher are: does wiring in wall need rerouted, and final trim outside(vinyl or aluminum siding).

good luck,
fred
