Hello all, Joeh20 here. My neighbor two doors up, asked me to repaint their freezeboard, plywood soffet, and fascia, two 24X6 gables ends. The house is a standard brick ranch 24X64 so it looks like 200 lineal feet of 16 inch wide soffet, 8 inch fascia and freezboard All wood looks solid and I might have to scrape 15% to get some loose stuff off. The soffet on front and back is from 10 to 13 feet from grade the gables are a 4/12 so might be 17 feet to ridge at most. I have staging and ladders to get to all these areas and feel that I can move around comfortably and safely.
Is it worth the effort to tape and mask off the brick and shingles and try to spray these areas I felt that I might spend a little more on the masking materials but might make up the difference in time spent with a brush and roller.
What is a fair price for this size job all materials and supplies included. How many hours should I plan on for a repaint like this. I have done much interior painting but never soffets and gables. What paint holds up best in tennessee's climate for exterior use. I have used SW's superpaint for some windows but question if it was worth the price. Thanks for any help.
