I borrowed an air compressor for a roofing project. The moisture filter is missing and I hear some water sloshing around inside the tank now. How bad is that and how do I get it out?

Should be a petcock on the bottom of the tank for draining--open it and run compressor for a few mins. to get water out, then you need a filter between tank and gun to trap condensation. That filter should have a drain valve on it. Worth spending a little time and few bucks to keep from pounding nails--both galv. and on end of fingers.
