Just had a brown out and discovered my Kenmore gas dryer will not heat. It is a Kenmore model number 97573220 (pilotless). I have power to the two coils on the gas valve. I do not hear any "click" when the heat cycle is started. I do not get any continuity through either coil. Should I just replace the coils or is there another part that should be changed as well? The motor runs fine, just no heat.
Thanks

Welcome river_walleye to my Gas Appliances forum and the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.
The problem your describing isn't to common after a brown out. However, any part that was weak and or close to becoming defective is a likely suspect.
Since you can check continuity, check all the control selections. Possible one of the contacts is burned out. Check all the wiring and wire connection terminals.
It's possible the flame sensor, located on the burners shroud cover, is defective. Check it for continuity. A weak glow coil may be possible and or a defective gas valve or one of the solenoids.
Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers instructional or owners manual & online web sites for product information, problem possibilities, causes and solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair proceedures, and instructions, pictorials and schematics, which may be available online.
An excellent source for orginal replacement parts is your local retail appliance parts store. Appliance parts dealers test parts and carry replacement parts for all appliances. Parts dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.
Retail parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers and stop in at the store. The info will help to determine the possible problem causes. Parts dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.
