I've recently installed a new bathtub and upper enclosure after removing the old tub and surrounding walls (fiberglass).
To do so I had to cut the skim coated blueboard around the mounting flanges of the old installation. The replacement is somewhat less deep hence the repair wil necessitate a protrusion in the existing wall. Not having done skimcoating on blueboard before, can anyone offer any pointers to enable me to effect a good job? I have taped joints with out problems on wallboard but in the use of plaster for the skimcoat should I be cognizant of any pitfalls??
