Well, the backerboard has been installed, and it's starting to look like a bathroom again in there!

My follow-up question: When I tape the backerboard seams, should I also be taping between the backerboard and the adjoining surfaces? The new section will be joining to a window frame, to existing tile wainscot, and to plaster.

Also, has anyone heard of any tile layout software? I've got some salvaged old tile, which I need to complement with new tile, and I'd love to be able to plot it out first.

Thanks!

Marwen

Marwen,

Glad to hear things are going well for you and your project. I would tape all that you need to in preparation for your finish look i.e. tile and/or painting, etc. It doesn't hurt anything and will just make things easier later on.

I really don't have a place to direct you for ceramic tile layout other than suggesting using the ruler and pencil.

It might be easier to use 1/4" graph paper, each square being the size of your tile, if all the tile is one size. Easy to calculate how many. Just a suggestion.

Good Luck!
