I just hand stripped a walnut stool from the 50's that had a greenish toner on it, the majority of it came off, but the wood has a greenish tint to it, I tried sanding it, comes off but way to much work!!! I also tried oxcilic acid, still nothing!!! I'm planning on staining it with provincial and am afraid green will show thru...any ideas???? Thanks Antwan

Antwan:

Before using the provincial stain, apply a thinned coat (2:1) thinner to stain of a red stain - such as minwax's red oak.

This should be enough to neutralize the green cast. After thorough drying time (24 hours minimum) you should be able to use the provincial stain.
