We've got about 300 sqr ft of Mannington Wilmington Oak Plank engineered hardwood flooring to install with either staples or nails. We have the instructions faxed from Mannington but they call for specific Mannington staplers and staples.
Has anyone installed this product with staplers or nailers and did you use other staplers/nailers? We're having trouble finding the exact staplers/nailers for rent.
Any installation instructions specific to this product would be appreciated.
thanks,
S

Aren't there instructions that came with the product itself? I haven't stapled it before but have been told the Senco flooring stapler will work for your 3/8" product as it has an adjustable base to work with different thicknesses of engineered flooring.

Ken is right the senco stapler that is shown in his reply is the perfect choice for engineered wood. The only problem is that they are sometimes hard to find in rental shops. I have used this on many installs. it will adjust to most any thickness up to 1/2 in. It is fast and accurrate.

Thanks for the replies! Further discussion with the manager of the store I bought the floor from proved very fruitful -- yielding installation tips and a rental place that has the tools. I was initially deterred by the installation-clueless salespeople. I just needed to find the person that knew it all.

Try our "find an installer service" from now on if you're tired of those kind of salespeople and need the right answers.
