| 1998 Jeep Cherokee will not start.
I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee w/auto trans, that will not start with the key or remote start. When I turn the key I get power and the relays click but nothing to the starter. I can start the car if I jump the starter. So I'm thinking it may the igniton switch or relays but I'm leaning towards the relays. Because when I press the button on the remote start the same thing happens, Relays click but nothing. I have check all the fuses any they are good. I replace the Starter with a good one, and replaced the battery since it was 7 years old and was sluggish in the cold.
If it is the relays, how many are there. I know of 1 behind the Glove box and and 1 in the Fuse box under the hood. There are also 3 other relays in the fuse box in the car. I think that one of those is for the starter as well but not sure. |
