volume control is too loud on lowest setting.
Unfortunately, I only have a rooftop antenna. I had been using a converter box to get digital before, but hoped the procedure you suggested would eliminate the need for it. Someone told me I need to use a signal splitter and converter box since VCRs only have analog tuners. I'll try to figure out the hook-up, but I realize I might need to buy something more recent than the VCR. I'd like to keep it simple--just want to record a program while I watch something else, occasionally. Any thoughts on the subject?
