volume control is too loud on lowest setting.

SUCCESS!! It worked!! I'm so pleased! Thank you so much for all your patience and help, craftsman_50. Now I can watch digital TV. (If I want to make the volume go a little lower, is that possible? If so, what should I set it to?) How did you know about that service bulletin? What are the odds?

My next ordeal is to figure out how to get my VCR to work in digital. The back has only VHF/UHF jacks and the VCR channel options never showed a decimal point like some of the digital channels have. I'd like to keep this as simple as possible. Think I should just get a digital VCR/DVD unit to transfer tapes I have? Any recommendations? I'm clearly electronically challenged.

I hope I'm not being greedy by asking more questions. Maybe I should post the VCR one separately. Any suggestions would be great.
