I know that there are problems with CFL's and dimmers and possibly motion sensors, but before I knew there was a conflict I installed CFL floods and they work just fine. Two years now and I haven't told them they are not supposed to work

Since you are going to but the floods anyway, no harm in trying them. Maybe you will be all set.
