Smelling fuel oil

I have a 7 year old Oil furnace that is regularly maintained. It has always been and was maintained (preventive) Nov of this year by the original installers of the unit. Last year the nozzle was replaced. Following the Nov service the smell of fuel oil is present. Im not sure if the smell is actually "raw" fuel oil or smoke. The service man has since been back to check it out. He checked "everything" again. He can find nothing wrong. The smell continues. Any ideas?
