| make your holes at least 6 in deeper than you need then place 6 in of gravel in the bottom of the hole. Place the posts on the gravel and pour concrete around them. the gravel will help to drain water from around the posts and keep them from rotting so quick. i did this with mine and most of my posts are over 20 years old.
